You laugh, you cry, and you leave when its time to say bye. I got The Artist from Netflix on DVD. I wanted to see it because it had won an Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Actor, and so on. The Artist is a silent film based in the late 1920s. The story follows a silent movie actor by the name of George Valetin, Jean Durardin, as he struggles with life after movies with sound ruined his career.

Jean Durardin did a great job acting, and even won an Academy Award for it. Bérénice Bejo also was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. And Michel Hazanavicius Won Best director for The Artist. I thought the film had great acting and directing.

Overall the film was great and i haven’t seen anything like it before, but to be honest I thought it was great but not Best Picture worthy. Their were other movies nominated that I thought were better, like Moneyball. I give it a 8 out of 10!
